Product Hardware
When you ingest alcohol, your body uses several metabolic functions to process this alcohol and distribute it around your body via the bloodstream, one of which is to emit the alcohol as gas through your pores. SOBRsure is able to sense this gas with a high degree of accuracy and determine the presence of alcohol in a person’s system.
SOBRsure tests for alcohol every 15 seconds. The sensor is constantly measuring the amount of ethanol present, and reading is taken from the sensor every 15 seconds. This is logged in the device memory, transferred to the application and sent to the cloud for delivery to the administrator’s mobile device.
Hand sanitizers, perfume and other alcohol-based products may trigger a false-positive on SOBRsure. SOBRsafe recommends that the user avoid alcohol-based products while wearing SOBRsure. Additionally, being in environments with high ambient alcohol content such as a bar or a place with many open alcohol bottles could trigger a false positive. Avoid these places and situations if trying to prevent false positives.
